Karen touched so many lives. Some refer to it as " magical fairy dust". She was an amazing woman, mother, wife, teacher and friend. As friends of the family, we would like to create a storybook of her life in order to capture some of the "magic" she gave all of us who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Family
Please share your favorite story of Karen and how she has impacted your life. Along with the story, we would like to know your name and relationship with Karen.
This is Marcie Myers (Hagen). Aunt Karen is on my Dad's side of the family. You put Mark and Michael side by side and you'd be hard pressed to miss the family resemblance.
My memory of Karen comes from a childhood Thanksgiving. We are all sitting at the table passing around the goodies and piling up our plates (seconds on Uncle Mike's rolls of course!). I look across the table and Karen is ripping off this gigantic drumstick from the bird. It never occurred to me to rip anything off the bird; I always got my meat from the plate of carvings. I thought to myself, my aunt is so crazy.
Well all these years later that memory is more symbolic than anything. In a world where everyone blindly takes the carved meat from the plate, Karen rips off the drumstick because she knows what she wants. You might even say she lives her life to the beat of a different drumstick! :)
I've been touched reading all the comments people have written about Karen. She has influenced so many people and I feel lucky to have known her. She will be missed greatly. Love you Aunt Karen!
